Our story...

When our son was first diagnosed with Autism, we weren't surprised. Abel walked to his own beat from the moment he learned to actually walk. We knew our son was special, we just didn't know how much. After his diagnosis, we began the process of looking for service providers. Having a family-owned business that was already well established in the developmental industry certainly helped, but that didn't really mean we knew how to navigate everything from this side of it.

One thing we knew for certain...it was going to have to be an amazing person if we were going to allow them into our home and our lives to work with our son.

As we began the search, it really hit us just how much trust you place in someone who is caring for, teaching and spending time in the community with your loved one...and how overwhelming it would be for families without the resources and connections that we had to actually find that person. We've always made it a priority in our agency to only hire exceptional, professional, and truly caring providers, both in our developmental foster homes as well as in our Home and Community Based Services (such as respite, habilitation and attendant care.) But it really wasn't until we were in need of those services ourselves that we truly understood just how crucial that was.

Our son's providers have become like family to us. One of the most important things for us was to know that Abel would have stability in the people he grew to trust and work with. We didn't want an ever-revolving line of people coming and going from his life. That's not good for anyone but especially an autistic individual. Over the years, providers have certainly come and gone...that's pretty unavoidable...but every one of them left a special imprint on his life. Every one of them quickly became someone that he opened up to and loved.

And every one of them came from All in the Family.

At the beginning of 2021, a decision was made (primarily for tax reasons) to split up the two major parts of the agency into separate companies. Our Developmental Foster homes would remain with All in the Family and our rapidly growing HCBS division would become its own agency. Nothing was sold or bought. It's still the same family doing the same thing we've been doing all along. Nothing is changing....except...

We needed a new name.

And we could think of no better way to show just how extraordinary our company is than to name it after our truly extraordinary son.

Abel is the light of our lives. Through his challenges and victories, he has taught us how to love deeper, laugh harder, and live better. Whether you're seeking care for someone you love or looking to work in this field as a provider, please know that our standards are high. And they're high for a very important reason...people like Abel.

And as you navigate through this overwhelming, ever-evolving, and occasionally frustrating world of DDD services, you should know that you will always have an advocate in us. We will support you, we will fight for you, and we will guide you.

Because that's what family does.

Welcome to All for Abel.

With love in Christ,

- Chris and Steph Chandler
